Due to the high diversity of microclimates, landscapes will change within a short drive. We started to notice the repeating sentence during our drives “wow that’s green!” Yes, Costa Rica has clearly made us real nature experts…
Within all these different landscapes we soon learned that we needed a good eye and attention. The variety of animals and insects is huge, but they are also very shy. In the contrary to our hopes, these animals and insects did not introduce themselves one by one in the forest. They were not keen to show themselves off and even used their amazing camouflage to hide from us. Without our experienced guides calling us back, we would have walked under a sloth and pass a crocodile, bullet ants and even colorful frogs without noticing them! Their shy nature invited us to become at ease and full of attention. Once we were more relaxed, they even became visible for rushed people as ourselves. Thanks to these shy inhabitants we became one with nature way faster then expected!
Not only do landscapes change by driving around the country. We also noticed the influence of the sun, moon, rain or fog. Due to rain or a beautiful sunset, we found ourselves in many different fairytale-like sceneries. All provided by mama nature herself! She did whatever it took to attract our attention.
Meanwhile.. What did we do? We let us guide by mother nature’s many different faces.
